As a Regional Director for FOCUS I oversee 6 campuses, 3 in Kansas and 3 in Texas. My role is to work with the Team Directors at each campus to make sure they are living out the Universal Call to Holiness, and leading their team and students to do the same. I make sure that each team is living an authentic witness of discipleship with Jesus, so that they can call the students on their campuses to answer that same call. I do this by keeping in touch each week with the Team Directors, and periodically visiting campus throughout the year to ensure that they have everything they need to live out the mission.
Before I even thought about becoming a missionary, I desired to help people and play music. These have been the desires of my heart for a long time. I thought the only way I could do this, was through practicing medicine, and entertaining a crowd, at a local bar, with my guitar. As graduation neared, I was going to take a year off of school and figure out what the next step was. As I was growing in my faith, I went to check out what FOCUS was at one of their Interview Weekends and walked away knowing Jesus was calling me there. Throughout my first 2 years of FOCUS, I encountered Jesus in a deep and powerful way. This encounter has brought so much healing, as well as a real understanding of my true identity as a son of God. This encounter has propelled me into this mission field, challenging other men and women to seek their true identity in Christ and not settle for anything less! God has been amazingly faithful in blessing my desires to help people in a spiritual way. In addition, He has given me opportunities to play music at various retreats and conferences all over the country. I was even able to record an album with the band we used for our national conferences!
