The Greeks believed that God could not be moved by our suffering. They argued that if He could be affected emotionally by our afflictions then He could be manipulated and would not be in control. Jesus, who is the very image of God, showed how far from the truth this belief was. He is touched with the feelings of our infirmities. But even more can give corresponding grace for all our needs.
