Brian Franklin, adoptive parent and Board Chair for the Joint Council on International Children's Services joins us to talk about the state of declining international adoption and the role of the Joint Council.

The Joint Council's mission is to advance the overall well-being of vulnerable children and their right to live in permanent family care. The Joint Council is an advocacy and education organization leading and guiding the ever-changing landscape of international adoption as well as the issue of permanency for children worldwide.

Brian shares his unique perspective as an adoptive parent and through his experience adopting his son Sammie from Ethiopia learned of the work of the Joint Council and is now a long-time, dedicated volunteer to the organization.
