Hey Mandolin Friends!

I’m so excited and honored to be teaching this course for Seeds of Music. It will be a survey course where we study my five favorite mandolin players.

Each week I will teach a solo by one of these luminaries, and also provide a video of it played slowly to aid with your practicing. In addition, we’ll discuss and dissect other aspects of their styles—everything from the Bush chop, to the way Grisman fills, to the way Thile changed the ball game.

This is a great opportunity to improve your grounding in the idiom, no matter what your level. I’m really looking forward to this deep dive into the playing of these legends!
