Jon Leonard Founder of Wanaprasta – Ethical Farming

Founder of Balinese farming cooperative Wanaprasta, Jon Leonard works with growers across Bali to enhance their natural relationship with the land. Producing ethical, indigenous, pastured organic meats and dairy products, Wanaprasta has grown in reputation since 2010 – even receiving the stamp of approval from Jamie Oliver!

Earth is the god that sustains us. Without it we have nothing. Every living thing is equally special and as a farmer I recognise and harvest from a wide range of living foods. Farming like this means I don’t value one living over another. All life is sacred and serves a purpose as part of the earth’s web of life.

What matters is the evolution of respect for all living things in equal measure and the development of respect for nature’s laws and a recognition of the beauty in the cycle of life and death.
