Tom Eblen of the Lexington Herald Leader is joined by renowned presidential historian and Pulitzer Prize-winning author Jon Meacham on this edition of Eastern Standard. The Gaines Center, Kentucky Humanities, and the University of Kentucky present The Bale Boone Symposium in Humanities featuring Jon Meacham on September 17th at 7pm in the Worsham Theatre at the University of Kentucky Student Center. As a capstone to Kentucky Humanities’ statewide literacy initiative Kentucky Reads: All the King’s Men, Meacham will be speaking on the relevance of Robert Penn Warren’s work, from politics to race and regional culture. His latest book, The Soul of America: The Battle for Our Better Angels, published by Random House, will be available for purchase at the event. This event is free and open to the public.
