Have you ever tried to avoid God and flee from doing His will? Jonah sought to hide from the LORD when commanded to go and warn the people of Ninevah of God's impending judgment so that they might repent and look to God for mercy. As these first chapters reveal, trying to flee from the presence of God doesn't work out so well.
