What does one do when they are distressed and in turmoil? At times we may turn to other "saviors" thinking they will somehow bring deliverance. These are what Jonah calls "vain idols" (Jonah 2:8). What hope can they offer? And what is the true deliverance that we need? Jonah, being in the belly of the fish, helps us to see the One who is greater than him who brings a greater deliverance.
