101 | The Ways We Learn

Joseph Learns to Bake

Listen Later

We live in a golden age of TV baking shows. When watching, do you ever find yourself wishing you could create such masterpieces? This episode sees Joseph Roche—astrophysicist and assistant professor in Science Education at TCD—don his apron and try his hand at baking. Guided by culinary researcher, storyteller, and cook, Clare Anne O’Keefe, we see Joseph rise, like his sponge, to the challenge! Jane and Shane listen to Joseph’s adventures and ask if fun is one of the key ingredients needed for success. We also talk to primary school teacher and researcher Sorcha Browne from University College Dublin about how children prioritise fun in their learning, and about the positive effects that can have.
