Listen Later

Host Justin Barton interviews Joseph Whiting, a Snowflake, Arizona musician and the youngest of four siblings, all of whom have served missions. Joseph shares his call to the Philadelphia Pennsylvania Mission of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and his upcoming setting apart. He discusses ongoing doubts and fears about serving in a big city, companions, and mission challenges, and explains how he finds peace through faith and focusing on converting himself and sharing God’s love rather than numbers. Joseph describes recognizing God’s guidance through small, gradual impressions, how he is preparing by learning from missionaries and living his testimony now, and how he hopes to grow in confidence and deeper commitment. He reflects on D&C 4 attributes, emphasizing love and brotherly kindness, and bears testimony of Christlike, unconditional love.
