•Jordan River - Jericho - Ai/Achan - Gibeon - battle w/Amorites w/Gibeon - Prayer...vs 12-13.
•We know from Christ’s own words that if we have faith the size of a mustard seed we could command a mountain to be thrown into the sea and it would be done.
•But if I were to pray for Mount Everest to be uprooted and cast into the Indian Ocean would it happen?
•The prayer of faith says it “could” happen but probably “wouldn’t” happen.
•Why?
•Because what divine purpose would that serve?
•God put Mount Everest right where He put it for a divine purpose and it’s meant to stay there.
•The same is true with the pattern of the sun - it rises in the east and sets in the west for a purpose.
•Ah, but here’s the beauty of faith - for one brief moment in history there was a divine purpose in the sun stopping in the sky.
•So God’s people could experience VICTORY over their enemies.
•The key to the prayer of faith isn’t just believing, but also knowing the purpose of God.
•We need to be so in tune with the Holy Spirit that we ask for things we know He wants because we know Him so well.
•Psalms 37:4 - “Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desire of your heart.”
•God’s desires will become our desires when we delight in Him.
•Then, and only then, will we be able to truly pray the prayer of faith.
•God wants us to walk in victory, and the only way to do that is to walk in AUTHORITY!
•Authority is the "Right to use Power."
