Joshua 11-15

Listen Later

In today’s reading, the conquest continues, with other gentile kings forming an alliance against the Israelites, but the promise of God endured, and moving from city to city, land to land, Joshua and the Israelites defeat every enemy and every king. City after to city fall to the Israelites, and over many years, the north of Canaan is subdued, the kingdoms east and west of Jordan are subdued, with more than thirty kings falling to the armies of Israel. As Joshua grows old, the LORD tells him of much land yet to be possessed. He describes the borders of the lands given to the nine and a half tribes that crossed Jordan to inherit them, and Caleb, the only spy that stood faithful with Joshua when they first spied out the land decades before, receives his promised inheritance, Kirjatharba, now called Hebron.
