Acts 10–12 | Journal Through Scripture

Acts 7–9

In today’s reading, we walk through a powerful turning point in the Book of Acts.

• Acts 7: Stephen boldly shares the story of God’s faithfulness and calls out the people’s resistance to the Holy Spirit. His unwavering faith leads to his martyrdom — and a great move of God begins.
• Acts 8: The church scatters, but the gospel spreads even further. Philip preaches in Samaria, and we witness the incredible story of the Ethiopian eunuch receiving the Good News.
• Acts 9: Saul’s dramatic encounter with Jesus on the road to Damascus changes everything. The persecutor of Christians becomes a chosen instrument to share the gospel.

These chapters remind us how God can use even the hardest moments to advance His Kingdom and transform lives.

In today’s reading, we see the boldness of the apostles as they proclaim Jesus despite opposition. In Acts 4, Peter and John stand firm before the religious leaders, declaring that salvation is found in no one else but Christ. The early church shows unity as believers share their possessions to care for one another.

Acts 5 brings both a warning and a wonder: the story of Ananias and Sapphira reveals the seriousness of honesty before God, while many signs and wonders confirm the Spirit’s power. The apostles face arrest but continue to preach with courage, saying, “We must obey God rather than men.”

In Acts 6, we see the church growing so rapidly that seven men are chosen to assist in serving, including Stephen, who will soon play a pivotal role in the story of faith and witness.

Acts 1–3

In this episode, we step into the beginning of the Book of Acts, where the church is born and the Holy Spirit begins His mighty work.

Summary: Acts 1 opens with Jesus’ final instructions before His ascension into heaven, promising the Holy Spirit to empower His followers. The disciples, now apostles, choose Matthias to replace Judas. In Acts 2, the Holy Spirit descends at Pentecost, filling the apostles with power and boldness to preach. Peter delivers a powerful sermon, and about three thousand people are added to the church that day. Acts 3 shows the Spirit at work through the apostles as Peter and John heal a lame beggar at the temple gate, using the opportunity to proclaim that the miracle comes through Jesus Christ.

Mark 9–11

In this episode, we continue our journey through the Gospel of Mark with chapters 9–11. These chapters show powerful moments in Jesus’ ministry, His teaching on faith, humility, and prayer, and His triumphant entry into Jerusalem.

• Mark 9 – The Transfiguration, Jesus heals a boy with an unclean spirit, and He teaches on true greatness and avoiding sin.

Gospel of Mark 5–8

In this episode, we continue through the Gospel of Mark as Jesus’ ministry unfolds with power, compassion, and deep teaching. We witness miracles that reveal His authority over sickness, nature, and even death. Crowds are fed, hearts are tested, and Peter confesses Jesus as the Christ. These chapters not only reveal the wonders of what Jesus can do but also convey the call to truly follow Him and understand His mission.

Matthew 25–28

In this episode of Journal Through Scripture, we come to the powerful closing chapters of the Gospel of Matthew.
