Jennifer goes above and beyond to create a Mandarin-speaking environment for her children, incorporating various experiences and activities. For instance, she hires a Mandarin-speaking nanny and attends a Mandarin-speaking church. Even at home, Jennifer only speaks Mandarin, regardless of whether her husband understands or not. Her unwavering commitment stems from her own teenage experience, where her cousins, who were also mixed-race, had little knowledge and even disdain for Asian culture. 

Driven by her promise to herself, Jennifer is determined to raise her children differently. She shares her experiences and the challenges she faces in creating a multicultural and multilingual household.
