Andy Baker is a registered professional engineer in Alaska and owner of YourCleanEnergy consulting in Anchorage. A graduate in civil engineering from Penn State University, he regularly teaches workshops on the theory, design and installation of renewable energy technologies suitable for northern climates. Andy’s interest in environmental justice and the Lewis & Clark expedition, including its passage through territory long-inhabited by the Lakota and other indigenous peoples, led him to camp with more than 6,000 others at Standing Rock in November 2016. There he was able to witness the Lakota world of Prayer Ceremonies, Water Protectors, Sacred Fires and front-line action to stop the proposed Dakota Access Pipeline.
