It is said you have to be “invited” to visit a temple. A truth that has been impressed on me countless times and yet again when I made spectacular efforts to reach the hallowed Trimbakeshwar Temple on a whim that the temple HAD to be visited before 2024 ended. To no avail!How difficult can it be to get to a temple, surely? It is mystifying what obstacles can manifest to derail ones endeavours. And this is especially so with journeys to the 12 Jyotirlinga Temples. Jyotirlinga in Sanskrit means a “Lingam of Light,” lingam being the symbol of the primeval Hindu God Shiva and the radiant 12 Jyotirlingas are deemed exalted manifestations of divinity irradiating intense energy fields. Accessing these temples is deemed a pilgrimage of the highest order. Higher the goal, greater the travails of accomplishment!
