Everyone wants joy in life. The apostle Paul tells us, "Always be full of joy in the Lord; I say it again—rejoice!" Easier said than done? Is it even possible? We need to recognize that what Paul commands is not just a cheerful disposition, which many have by nature, but rather something that requires supernatural power; it is joy in the Lord. Joy is a matter of attitude that stems from one's confidence in God. The numerous commands in God's Word to rejoice and be glad in the Lord show that it is both possible and necessary for all believers to experience the joy of the Lord.
