"Joy in the Mourning"

"Happy are those who mourn, for they will be comforted." Mt 5:3 (lit)

Talk about a paradox! Ours is the culture that measures personal happiness by the amount of laughter or enjoyment we can accrue. We look upon 'mourners' as people to be pitied. How shocking, then, to hear Jesus say that 'mourners' are the ones to be envied! Goodness!-we have to sort this out...
