Joy in the Rider

Listen Later

Psalm 16:11, "You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore."

1. Perhaps you are walking a path that is dark right now. The sun's rays have slipped below the horizon and the magical evening has turned to blackness with nocturnal eyes watching. "Where is this joy?" You ask. When we look at this verse, Psalm 16:11, we are reminded that God makes known to us the path of life. It is fact. He will and does and has. And the Light (see John 1) that He is causes the path to brighten even in the dark, and you can trust Him more and remember with Him there is always fullness of joy. Like a child with her mother in the dark of night. Yes it's dark, but there's security in Jesus and in Him there is joy. Cry out to Jesus today. Ask the Holy Spirit for joy for this day, this next step into the path. He is for you. He loves you. He knows you.

2. Where do you see reminders of the joy of the Lord in creation? What makes you smile? Write them down!

3. When you think of feeling absolutely full of joy, what would you describe that as? in Christ's Presence, this is always available because He Himself is joyful and it spills onto us who belong to Him! Rejoice and praise Him!
