When we seek happiness, we end up withholding from ourselves the fullness of the Christian life. Sometimes we hold back on purpose thinking, 'You don't deserve joy.' But it's not about "deserve," it's about what God wants to give us. He says part of the fruit of the Spirit is Joy. It should be part of the normal Christian life.
