1 Peter 1:3–9

  1. God has given us a living hope.

    2. “In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead”

     

    1. Our inheritance is secure in Christ.

      2. “An inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade—kept in heaven for you”

      “…who through faith are shielded by God’s power…”

       

      1. We have trials, but they are temporary—and transforming.

        2. “…though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials.”

        “These have come so that your faith…may be proved genuine…”

         

        1. We love and trust Jesus even though we haven’t seen Him.

          2. “Though you have not seen him, you love him…you believe in him…you are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy”

           

          1. God is actively saving you.

            2. “For you are receiving the goal of your faith, the salvation of your souls.”
