Joyce's Riddle: Crossing Dublin Without Passing A Pub

Listen Later

There are a million ways to cross Dublin by foot, several thousand ways to do it by pub crawl, but there is only one route that is publess. In his world famous book 'Ulysses', James Joyce wrote "Good puzzle would be to cross Dublin without passing a pub". 100 and more years later, the riddle was solved. Join us as we walk along the route, explore how it was devised, and delve into the forgotten pubs of Dublin that once existed on the trail.

Why would anyone want to avoid all of Dublin's pubs? Well, that's another question.
