We start out this week with Pete contemplating his fleet and whether or not he should take advantage of the crazy market right now. Should he flip his truck and take the cash to roll into something else? Or play it safe and buy a civic? After that we talk about the most iconic car from the early 2000’s, ( according to Rob ) Paul Walker’s Fast and Furious Supra, went up for auction and sold for quite a bit of cash. How much cash you ask? Listen to the episode to find out. Or google it. Or don’t do either and go make a sandwich. www.joyridepod.com

This week on the Joyride Podcast Rob and Pete talk a little about their current car situation. A new car is coming up on auction in a few weeks and Rob wishes he had the disposable income required to purchase it. Paul Walker’s famous orange toyota supra is going up on auction. After that Rob shares an article that EV drivers in California are finding out EV’s aren’t everything they’re cracked up to be. Quickly pivoting to Ford selling 45,000 pre orders for their newest EV truck. So it’s clear that there is a clear segment of the population that has an interest in an EV vehicle. Including one half of the podcast. Turns out Pete was one of those thousands of people who decided that Ford’s new EV might be for them. Lastly we talk about how crazy the used car market is right now. Anyone out there going to take advantage of the situation right now? If you do send us an email and let us know what you did and what your plans are for the money.

This week on the Joyride Podcast Rob takes a Joyride in a friend’s new 2013 Mustang GT. The American muscle car put a huge smile on his face and for good reason. What’s not to love about a 5 liter V 8 attached to a manual transmission? It was a convertible so our ears were treated to the extra sweet sound of American muscle. BMW is trying to figure out how to bring some audio to their EV cars. Zeh German car company enlisted the help of German musical powerhouse Hans Zimmer to figure out what a car that makes no noise should sound like. Can two German giants solve this equation? We have our doubts but hope for the best. Last, we talk about Pete’s ongoing first world problem of having too many cars to juggle in his external garage. It’s more of a barn and less of a garage but when you are a car enthusiast any outside structure on your property becomes a home for cars. Should he swap all three of his current cars to one car that fits all his needs in one ride?

This week on the Joyride Podcast Rob recounts a few text exchanges he had with Pete. Is Rob becoming a person of a certain age by preferring previous generations to new generations? Or is it a sample size of certain makes and models? After that we go over N Day! Hyundai unveiled the latest model to get the N treatment. The Hyundai Kona N. Is this new hot hatch cross over enough to tickle Rob and Pete? After that JDM heroes Honda revealed the rework of a brand new Civic. Spoiler alert it looks great we both love it. So turns out we aren’t getting old. I mean we are but our tastes aren’t. The big question is what will the new car cost?

This week on the Joyride Podcast Pete wonders if he missed his calling as an auto designer. Pete asks Rob about the Kia Stinger and they break down their likes and dislikes of the car. We put on nerd glasses and geek out about daytime running lights. Then we drool over Cadillac Escilade’s 38 inch interior display. Rob gives another one of his neurotic opinions this time on car emblems. Pete steers the conversation to what current car offering you could buy today that 10 years from now would be a special car that would be more desirable than it is today. Then Rob brings up rental car clubs with Pete and they contemplate their next business venture.

This week on the Joyride Podcast we have our first remote guest. A return favorite Adam Hines from Highbank Distillery. We find out how Adam’s cars are doing and what they are doing at Pete’s house. Pete fills us in on the situation with his Audi TT. Then we talk a bit about Columbus cars and coffee. Pete does a bit of a comparison between all three of our cars. He’s currently the one with the most time behind their respective wheels. How do three similar roadsters stack up against each other? Last Adam shares his latest car acquisition dream with Rob and Pete. Pete deals with his inner turmoil of hating and respecting Adam’s idea. Someone needs to get on wikipedia and add entries for our new terms of Hinesing and Kakouled.

This week on the Joyride Podcast we reflect on the mini outing we had the night before. Three old convertible sports cars, what could possibly go wrong? How quickly could it go wrong? Turns out pretty quick. After going over that nights events we talk a bit about the new Toyota 86 and Subaru BRZ twins. Will their new looks and new engines be enough to continue to grow their market share? Only time will tell. Then GMC takes charge of the conversation with the Hummer SUV and Silverado EV options. Then we take a pregnant pause to go over Volvo’s new parental leave program. We also cover the only tournament that matters right now. March Madness by Porsche. Then Rob finally gets around to a Formula 1 story he’s been sitting on for a while. It's all more comfortable than George Russel's shoes.

This week on Joyride Rob gets a mysterious text from Pete about a field trip. Are we going to a museum? An amusement park? Who else just noticed that there isn’t much difference in the two words museum and amusement? Can you tell I’m stalling? Ok well stop reading this and start listening to the episode to get to the bottom of Pete’s mysterious text.

This week Rob has his first experience of feeling like part of the club. Finally getting a wave from another motorist. Another Bring a Trailer auction caught us off guard from the previous week. A 1993 Toyota Supra with 94 thousand miles was sold for 73,000 dollars. It breaks Rob’s brain more than it was broken before. Pete is suspicious and goes into conspiracy mode on this auction. Kia is the latest manufacturer to be hit with a recall. 380,000 vehicles are recalled for serious fire hazards. A perfect storm of rebates and discounts offers up the best deal on a new Toyota Mirai. If you live out in California it is one heck of a deal. Then we take a look at another EV truck that could be hitting the market soon. The Canoo. We are of the opinion you can push that canoo right out into the ocean. How do you feel about the Canoo? Last, we look at the new BMW M3. We’re holding onto hope that it drives better than it looks.
