He received a B.A. in English from the University of Saskatchewan, an M.A. in English from the University of Toronto, an M.Div. from the University of St. Michael's College, a D.Phil. from the University of Oxford, and an L.M.S. from the Pontifical Institute of Mediaeval Studies.
