On January 27, 1959 eight well trained hikers started an expedition in the Ural mountains in Russia. After not returning back to civilization when expected, search and rescue teams located their badly damaged tent on February 25, 1959 and then located the bodies of four of the hikers in various stages of undress and odd injuries several hundred meters from the tent. Over the next few months, the remaining hikers bodies were located as well. These hikers also had odd unexplained injuries including a few of them being radioactive.
