We talked with Coach Tony Gomes most recently coaching baseball at Saddleback College.
We discussed the new rule in Junior College sports that allows athletes to go to junior college and their eligibility time does not start! How is this going to affect everything?
About Coach Gomes:
Tony Gomes was hired as an assistant coach at Saddleback College in the fall of 2015. Previous to Saddleback, Gomes spent 15 years as the head assistant at Cañada College in Redwood City, California. In total, Games has coached at the collegiate level for 22 years.
Gomes attended Serra High School in San Mateo, California, where earned First Team All League honors. The next two years he attended Cañada College, earning First Team All American honors in 1989.
After college, Gomes played many years of baseball and considers many of his former teammates as brothers. Today he is the proud father of Anthony and Alyssa, and is also know as (poppi) to his beautiful grandaughter Audreyna.
