Judaism and Firearms
When you think about Judaism and firearms what comes to mind? Do you think of anti-gun politicians like Michael Bloomberg and Bernie Sanders or do you think about how millions of Jews might not have died during WWII at the hands of Hitler.
As one of the oldest groups of people, Jews have faced persecution and violence for thousands of years and yet there still seems to be an anti-gun mentality attached to people of the Jewish faith
To help clarify this perceived conflict of interest and provide better insight, we’ve asked award winning Second Amendment Advocate, author and public speaker Yehuda Remer or as most of you might know him “The PewPewJew” on the show.
Topics and Questions Addressed in this Episode
The positive benefits of the NRA’s Eddie Eagle program and how Yehuda has provided additional information and benefits to this program with his books.
How firearm use and pro-gun beliefs transcend across all faiths and religions.
Myths concerning why firearms have no place in Judaism:
Jews shouldn’t use firearms, because eating hunted food isn’t Kosher.
If Jews are willing to put rules and restrictions in place to make things Kosher, then it makes perfect sense to put rules and restrictions on firearms.
That Judaism doesn’t permit the use of firearms for self-defense or kill people.
Judaism instructs that Jews should want to live in a Utopian society; therefore the use of firearms is not permitted.
Jews shouldn’t use firearms, because the NRA is an anti-Semitic organization.
The myth used by anti-gun rights advocates that Hitler didn’t ban firearms to Jews and firearms had nothing to do with their fate.
One thing you should know about Judaism and firearms.
