Back in 1991, many of us thought that Judas Priest was probably on thin ice following the decision of Rob Halford to look in other directions, but if they could find the right replacement as lead vocalist they had enough credits in the bank to bounce back and continue to take on the world. No one thought it would take another six years for that to happen, and no one thought that their new vocalist would be best known as a singer in a cover band.
The eventual result was the album “Jugulator”, one that ended up being a compilation of the times, both musically and in promotion. In many ways it actually produced more questions than answers. The story of the lead up to this album and how it performed is the basis of today’s episode, of the podcast that blurred and scorched, breathing exhaust as we distort, Music from a Lifetime.
