One of the most common critiques of the church in America is that its people are judgmental. This is a touchy issue that we are notorious for getting wrong. Doesn’t Jesus say, “Judge not”? Not exactly. Jesus says much more than that, and yes, it’s brilliant. Are we to judge or abstain from judging? Jesus says the answer is “Yes.” The real question is, “Who should we judge?” We are to judge the believin’ not the heathen.
