In Judges 1, we have the beginning of 300 years of chaos due to disobedience. There is a sin cycle of false idols and disobedience, judgement being brought forth, a deliverer being sent to save them, and God's people then repenting and turning back to Him. Then, they do it all again. This is the exact same thing we do in our lives today. We are human. We fall short. We make mistakes. It all proves how much we desperately need Jesus. Instead of extinguishing and getting rid of all the sin in the land like God told them to, they let some of it stay. We do that too. We repent but refuse to fully let go of the sin and toy around with it a bit. Then we end up tripping up again only to have God save us and forgive us yet again through Jesus. God never gets tired of us and loves us beyond comprehension and is quick to forgive us again and again. He is fully of compassion and mercy if we are willing to cry out to Him to receive it. Above all else, He pursues our hearts.
