In Judges 21, the Israelites have remorse for the Benjaminites and are concerned about losing an entire tribe due to the destruction that erupted from all the sin that has encompassed their nation. There are 600 Benjaminites left and their loophole of a solution is to kidnap women and give them to the men that are left so the tribe can repopulate. God's will is for His people to love Him and love people. Sin has taken root and they are definitely not doing either. The events in the final chapters of Judges are horrific and show just how bad things can get if we let sin corrupt our lives. The book ends with an entire nation doing whatever seems right in their own eyes rather than God's. It shows how desperately we need a King, a Judge, a Redeemer, a Rescuer, a Savior - how desperately we need Jesus. It shows how bad life can get without Him. God gives us Jesus. He knows what we need and He redeems - even this. Paul is from the tribe of Benjamin. God restores when we repent and turn to Him. We can choose God over sin. We have the power that raised our Redeemer from the grave in us when we accept Him and can therefore run from sin with all our guts. We can choose to fight. We are fighting an already defeated enemy. God wins.
