The Book of Joel reveals that judgement will precede Israel's future spiritual revival. Speaking to the people of Judah, these tragedies depict the disciplining hand of God for their sins culminating on the Day of the Lord. The phrase "Day of the Lord" refers to that future time when God will pour out His wrath on the nations because of their sins against God's holy people. Sealed by the Holy Spirit, believers face the Day of the Lord with peace and delight.
