I’ll have some more original writing here soon, but for now, just a couple links to pieces I’ve published in the last few days, both on the special mayoral election in Oakland tomorrow:

Most of you don’t live in Oakland, of course, but as I argue in The Free Press, this election should interest you anyway, as a litmus test for the mood of the Democratic base in cities that have been driven into chaos by the party machine.
