This episode makes us uncomfortable because it stops us in our tracks. How do you respond to, "he Bible says don't judge!" Easy...you keep reading. Does Jesus really want us not to judge...anything? And if we can't judge, what does that even mean? Are we not allowed to be a judge in court, or judge whether or not we should wear pants or shorts, or judge whether sin is sin? The world sees Christians as harsh judgmental people. So can properly exegeting this passage really change all that?
