Jueces 16:15-18:
Y ella le dijo: —¿Cómo, pues, dices: “Yo te amo”, siendo que tu corazón no está conmigo? Ya son tres veces las que te has burlado de mí, y no me has revelado en qué consiste tu gran fuerza. Este es el capítulo donde Sansón cayó de la gracia de Dios como consecuencia de sus propias acciones, y tocó fondo después de haber entrado en espiral sin freno en bajada hacia la perdición.
Ya no sentía remordimiento, el Espíritu de Dios se había contristado tanto porque su alma no se incomodaba ni se perturbaba al cometer tantos actos inmorales. Su conciencia estaba endurecida, insensible a la voz de Dios, quemada y destruida por el fuego del pecado.

Como podemos ver, aunque él estaba en caminos de inmundicia e inmoralidad, Dios le permitía usar su fuerza para librarse de los enemigos. Ese no era el propósito de Dios, de que él se librara de la muerte para poder seguir pecando libremente; el propósito era que él destruyera a los enemigos de Israel y los librara, no que él mismo se librara y seguir en sus andanzas.
Es por eso que él se confió pensando que era invencible, que nadie lo detendría. Sansón cayó en la auto-confianza, se fió de sus propios instintos, en su fuerza física, y en su sagacidad. Pensó que era muy astuto y que siempre tendría el control de la situación aunque jugara con fuego, aunque estuviera en el lodo del pecado; él pensó que nunca se iba a hundir ni quedar atascado en esa forma de vivir.
Pero, un día todo cambió cuando Sansón conoció una mujer más ambiciosa que las demás, que fue sobornada para entregarlo a las manos del enemigo. Ella vio que Sansón era la víctima perfecta porque él se enamoró de ella. Ella vio la oportunidad de desarmar a Sansón de una forma sutil con palabras lisonjeras, con una voz dulce y tierna, haciéndolo creer que estaba en un lugar seguro, que ella tenía buenas intenciones sinceras de amor. Ella hizo que se acomodara para que ya no estuviera a la defensiva, y lo presionaba constantemente para que le revelara la fuente de su fuerza. Al principio, Sansón no cedió y la engañaba, pero fueron sus palabras manipuladoras las que lograron quebrantar al hombre más fuerte del mundo. Espero que hoy hayamos aprendido de los errores de Sansón. Que no confiemos en nuestra sagacidad, nuestras fuerzas, nuestra inteligencia. Que no caigamos en el engaño de que se podrá tapar la mentira por mucho tiempo y que nunca saldrá a la luz. Que las promesas del mundo son falsas. Que ese sentimiento placentero que la carne siente se convertirá en un veneno que te matará. Que las palabras engañadoras de las personas usadas por Satanás son tan sutiles, que cuando menos te das cuenta ya estás en las garras del enemigo, impotente, atado y aplastado.
Evitemos que nuestras acciones desenfrenadas nos dejen al final en una ceguera espiritual, trayendo miseria, destrucción y muerte a nuestros hogares por culpa nuestra.

Then she said to him, “How can you say, ‘I love you,’ when your heart is not with me? You have mocked me these three times, and have not told me where your great strength lies.” And it came to pass, when she pestered him daily with her words and pressed him, so that his soul was vexed to death, that he told her all his heart, and said to her, “No razor has ever come upon my head, for I have been a Nazirite to God from my mother’s womb. If I am shaven, then my strength will leave me, and I shall become weak, and be like any other man.”
When Delilah saw that he had told her all his heart, she sent and called for the lords of the Philistines, saying, “Come up once more, for he has told me all his heart.” So the lords of the Philistines came up to her and brought the money in their hand.

This is the chapter where Samson fell from God's grace as a result of his own actions, and hit rock bottom after spiraling endlessly downward toward perdition.
He no longer felt remorse, the Spirit of God had been so sad because his soul was not bothered or disturbed by committing so many immoral acts. His conscience was hardened, insensitive to the voice of God, burned and destroyed by the fire of sin.
He thought that he could continue to abuse the grace of God and also the supernatural gift of having extraordinary strength. As we can see, even though he was in ways of filth and immorality, God allowed him to use his strength to get rid of enemies. That was not God's purpose, that he be freed from death so that he could continue sinning freely; the purpose was for him to destroy Israel's enemies and deliver them, not for him to deliver and continue on his wanderings.
That is why he trusted himself thinking that he was invincible, that no one would stop him. Samson fell into self-confidence, he trusted his own instincts, his physical strength and his sagacity. He thought that he was very astute and that he would always be in control of the situation even if he played with fire, even if he was in the mud of sin; he thought that he would never sink or get stuck in that way of living.
But, one day everything changed when Samson met a woman more ambitious than the others, who was bribed to deliver him into the hands of the enemy. She saw that Samson was the perfect victim because he fell in love with her. She saw the opportunity to disarm Samson in a subtle way with flattering words, with a sweet and tender voice, making him believe that he was in a safe place, that she had sincere good intentions of love. She made him settle down so that he wasn't longer defensive, and constantly pressed him to reveal the source of his strength. At first, Samson did not relent and deceived her, but it was her manipulative words that managed to break the strongest man in the world. Emotionally he felt frustrated, worn out and disturbed, and that was how he confessed his secret and Delilah understood that this time he had told her the truth.
Just as his conscience was seared, his hair was cut, his hands and feet were bound, and his eyes were seared with an iron band, leaving him weak, blind and powerless. The great liberator was now a prisoner of war and a slave to the enemies.
I hope that today we have learned from Samson's mistakes. Let us not trust our sagacity, our strength, our intelligence. Let us not fall into the deception that the lie can be covered up for a long time and that it will never come to light. That the promises of the world are false. That that pleasant feeling that the flesh feels will become a poison that will kill you. That the deceiving words of people used by Satan are so subtle, that when you least realize it you are already in the clutches of the enemy, powerless, bound and crushed.
Let us prevent that our unbridled actions leave us in the end in a spiritual blindness, bringing misery, destruction and death to our homes through our fault.

Él pensó que podía seguir abusando de la gracia de Dios y también del don sobrenatural de tener una fuerza extraordinaria. Como podemos ver, aunque él estaba en caminos de inmundicia e inmoralidad, Dios le permitía usar su fuerza para librarse de los enemigos. Ese no era el propósito de Dios, de que él se librara de la muerte para poder seguir pecando libremente; el propósito era que él destruyera a los enemigos de Israel y los librara, no que él mismo se librara y seguir en sus andanzas.
Es por eso que él se confió pensando que era invencible, que nadie lo detendría. Sansón cayó en la auto-confianza, se fió de sus propios instintos, en su fuerza física, y en su sagacidad. Pensó que era muy astuto y que siempre tendría el control de la situación aunque jugara con fuego, aunque estuviera en el lodo del pecado; él pensó que nunca se iba a hundir ni quedar atascado en esa forma de vivir.
Pero, un día todo cambió cuando Sansón conoció una mujer más ambiciosa que las demás, que fue sobornada para entregarlo a las manos del enemigo. Ella vio que Sansón era la víctima perfecta porque él se enamoró de ella. Ella vio la oportunidad de desarmar a Sansón de una forma sutil con palabras lisonjeras, con una voz dulce y tierna, haciéndolo creer que estaba en un lugar seguro, que ella tenía buenas intenciones sinceras de amor. Ella hizo que se acomodara para que ya no estuviera a la defensiva, y lo presionaba constantemente para que le revelara la fuente de su fuerza. Al principio, Sansón no cedió y la engañaba, pero fueron sus palabras manipuladoras las que lograron quebrantar al hombre más fuerte del mundo. Emocionalmente se sintió frustrado, desgastado y perturbado, y fue así que confesó su secreto y Dalila entendió que esta vez sí le había dicho la verdad.
Así como su conciencia fue cauterizada, su cabello fue cortado, fue atado de manos y pies, y sus ojos fueron cauterizados con un fierro de hierro, dejándolo débil, ciego e impotente. El gran libertador ahora era un prisionero de guerra y esclavo de los enemigos.
Espero que hoy hayamos aprendido de los errores de Sansón. Que no confiemos en nuestra sagacidad, nuestras fuerzas, nuestra inteligencia. Que no caigamos en el engaño de que se podrá tapar la mentira por mucho tiempo y que nunca saldrá a la luz. Que las promesas del mundo son falsas. Que ese sentimiento placentero que la carne siente se convertirá en un veneno que te matará. Que las palabras engañadoras de las personas usadas por Satanás son tan sutiles, que cuando menos te das cuenta ya estás en las garras del enemigo, impotente, atado y aplastado.
Evitemos que nuestras acciones desenfrenadas nos dejen al final en una ceguera espiritual, trayendo miseria, destrucción y muerte a nuestros hogares por culpa nuestra.

Judges 16: Steps towards the destruction of a great leader.
Judges 16:15-18:
Then she said to him, “How can you say, ‘I love you,’ when your heart is not with me? You have mocked me these three times, and have not told me where your great strength lies.” And it came to pass, when she pestered him daily with her words and pressed him, so that his soul was vexed to death, that he told her all his heart, and said to her, “No razor has ever come upon my head, for I have been a Nazirite to God from my mother’s womb. If I am shaven, then my strength will leave me, and I shall become weak, and be like any other man.”
When Delilah saw that he had told her all his heart, she sent and called for the lords of the Philistines, saying, “Come up once more, for he has told me all his heart.” So the lords of the Philistines came up to her and brought the money in their hand.

This is the chapter where Samson fell from God's grace as a result of his own actions, and hit rock bottom after spiraling endlessly downward toward perdition.
He no longer felt remorse, the Spirit of God had been so sad because his soul was not bothered or disturbed by committing so many immoral acts. His conscience was hardened, insensitive to the voice of God, burned and destroyed by the fire of sin.
He thought that he could continue to abuse the grace of God and also the supernatural gift of having extraordinary strength. As we can see, even though he was in ways of filth and immorality, God allowed him to use his strength to get rid of enemies. That was not God's purpose, that he be freed from death so that he could continue sinning freely; the purpose was for him to destroy Israel's enemies and deliver them, not for him to deliver and continue on his wanderings.
That is why he trusted himself thinking that he was invincible, that no one would stop him. Samson fell into self-confidence, he trusted his own instincts, his physical strength and his sagacity. He thought that he was very astute and that he would always be in control of the situation even if he played with fire, even if he was in the mud of sin; he thought that he would never sink or get stuck in that way of living.
But, one day everything changed when Samson met a woman more ambitious than the others, who was bribed to deliver him into the hands of the enemy. She saw that Samson was the perfect victim because he fell in love with her. She saw the opportunity to disarm Samson in a subtle way with flattering words, with a sweet and tender voice, making him believe that he was in a safe place, that she had sincere good intentions of love. She made him settle down so that he wasn't longer defensive, and constantly pressed him to reveal the source of his strength. At first, Samson did not relent and deceived her, but it was her manipulative words that managed to break the strongest man in the world. Emotionally he felt frustrated, worn out and disturbed, and that was how he confessed his secret and Delilah understood that this time he had told her the truth.
Just as his conscience was seared, his hair was cut, his hands and feet were bound, and his eyes were seared with an iron band, leaving him weak, blind and powerless. The great liberator was now a prisoner of war and a slave to the enemies.
I hope that today we have learned from Samson's mistakes. Let us not trust our sagacity, our strength, our intelligence. Let us not fall into the deception that the lie can be covered up for a long time and that it will never come to light. That the promises of the world are false. That that pleasant feeling that the flesh feels will become a poison that will kill you. That the deceiving words of people used by Satan are so subtle, that when you least realize it you are already in the clutches of the enemy, powerless, bound and crushed.
Let us prevent that our unbridled actions leave us in the end in a spiritual blindness, bringing misery, destruction and death to our homes through our fault.
