Julia Stamberger Unveils a Plant-Based Milk Designed with Coffee Lovers in Mind

Listen Later

Join U3 Coffee co-founder Kristi Ross as she chats with Julia Stamberger, CEO and co-founder of The Planting Hope Company, a Chicago startup working to create plant-based food options that are sustainable, scalable, and simple to use.

After twenty successful years in the food industry, Julia Stamberger noticed an important trend: While consumers wanted better-for-you options, many of the products on the market weren’t sustainable long-term as the world’s population continues to grow and climate change has a greater impact on our agricultural systems.

She and a group of other industry experts set out to create a plant-based milk that was sustainable, scalable, and provided the same nutrients as dairy, and would froth, foam, and steam as well as cow’s milk. Seven years and $10 million later, The Planting Hope Company released their Hope and Sesame Barista Blend, the first commercialized sesame milk, created specifically with coffee lovers’ needs in mind.
