Breaking news. Julian Castro is out of the presidential race. Another candidate of color leaves the stage. On the campaign trail, Julian Castro criticized the primary system for keeping Iowa and New Hampshire as the first voting states. Castro believed, and Domke and Douglas agree, that the predominantly white voters of those states have too much influence on the presidential race.  A change has to come. Reacting critically to breaking news provides useful context to our quickly evolving political landscape.
