The gambling dens of London and a secret assignation provide the backdrop for indiscretions large and small.
Julian Fellowes's Belgravia is a story in 11 episodes published week by week in the tradition of Charles Dickens. Belgravia is the story of a secret. A secret that unravels behind the porticoed doors of London's grandest postcode. The story behind the secret will be revealed in weekly bite-sized instalments complete with twists and turns and cliffhanger endings.
Set in the 1840s, when the upper echelons of society began to rub shoulders with the emerging industrial nouveau riche, Belgravia is peopled by a rich cast of characters. But the story begins on the eve of the Battle of Waterloo in 1815. At the Duchess of Richmond's now legendary ball, one family's life will change for ever....
You can pre-order the full Belgravia series as a single audiobook.

A fun period piece
As issued in serial form, each episode (installment) ended with several plot lines up in the air, some with hopes for a good outcome and some with potential disasters lurking in the shadows. The characters were developed as needed, consequently somewhat unevenly, but not so as to detract from the overall story. The nature of the structure, left one definitely looking forward to the next week's installment. As one hopes and expects, the evil and underhanded get their due punishment in the end, while those of good character, honest and true, are rewarded with a happy resolution and the prospect of living "happily ever after."
Completely pleasant - not up to the Downton Abbey standard ...
Completely pleasant - not up to the Downton Abbey standard, but not a lot is in print in the contemporary romance genre. A pleasant read, entertaining, relaxing, not challenging. Everything you could ask for in a summer read.
Love the story but not the way it was marketed.
I love the story but I am a little put off by the way this series is being marketed. $1.99 for a few chapters is a bit much. At this price after all 11 chapters you are paying over $20. I now understand that the entire series as a single book for substantially less but that is too late for me as I have purchased 1 through 4. I am not sure I will purchase the rest of the series.
Worst installment yet
It didn't take more than a few minutes to read and really did little to further the story.
Disappointed again.
