One man's good fortune sends rumours spreading through London society. What is the secret behind his success?
Julian Fellowes's Belgravia is a story in 11 episodes published week by week in the tradition of Charles Dickens. Belgravia is the story of a secret. A secret that unravels behind the porticoed doors of London's grandest postcode. The story behind the secret will be revealed in weekly bite-sized instalments complete with twists and turns and cliffhanger endings.
Set in the 1840s, when the upper echelons of society began to rub shoulders with the emerging industrial nouveau riche, Belgravia is peopled by a rich cast of characters. But the story begins on the eve of the Battle of Waterloo in 1815. At the Duchess of Richmond's now legendary ball, one family's life will change forever....

Another Great Read by Julian Fellowes
I love Julian Fellowes, no matter what time period he writes about. I couldn't wait for each episode to appear on my kindle and I usually finished the new installment within a few hours of its release, staying up all night to read. Set in mid 1800's London, a child is born of a working class mother and upper class father. With both parents deceased, the child is adopted and raised by a cleric and his wife, although his maternal grandparents (and subsequently paternal grandparents) follow his upbringing and eventually absorb their grandson into their lives, despite the jealousy of their other heirs who don't understand why an outsider is given such preferential treatment.
The twists and turns of the plot kept me on edge until each episode was released and I was sorry when I reached the end, which for me, is the mark of a truly great read.
A really fun read
I am enjoying each chapter as they arrive and read them right away. Even interrupting the book I am reading at the moment to read the latest chapter. This is not epic writing but it is fun and entertaining and enjoyable and interesting. The chapters end at just the right places to leave you wanting more. I love picturing the scenes in the book and thinking of them filmed in Downton Abbey style.
