JULY 1 - When God Steps In3-Year-Bible Reading: Proverbs 19:7; Luke 1//3-Year Bible Devotional Book (Year Two) Available on Amazon//________________________________________“All a poor man’s brothers hate him; how much more do his friends go far from him! He pursues them with words, but does not have them.” — Proverbs 19:7 (ESV)“And the angel said to her, ‘Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus.’” — Luke 1:30–31 (ESV)________________________________________Ever felt like no one noticed you—or worse, like people turned away when you needed them most? Proverbs 19:7 paints a real picture of loneliness and rejection. People can let us down, ignore us, or even walk away. But in Luke 1, we see something amazing: God steps into the life of Mary, an ordinary young girl, and chooses her for something extraordinary. The angel’s words, “Do not be afraid…you have found favor with God,” remind us that God sees us when others overlook us, and He has plans far greater than we can imagine. No matter how small or forgotten you feel, God knows your name, your struggles, and your dreams. He specializes in turning ordinary moments into life-changing stories.________________________________________THINK ABOUT IT1. God Sees You: When have you felt overlooked or left out like the person in Proverbs 19:7? How does knowing that God notices and cares for you change how you see yourself?2. Fear vs. Faith: Mary was afraid at first (Luke 1:30). What fears hold you back from trusting God’s plans for your life, and how can you hand them over to Him?3. God’s Favor in the Ordinary: Mary was an ordinary girl, yet God chose her for an extraordinary role. What ordinary parts of your life might God want to use for His purposes?________________________________________BOTTOM LINEEven when others overlook you, God sees you, calls you by name, and has a purpose for your life.________________________________________PRAYERHeavenly Father, thank You for seeing me when I feel unnoticed and for having a plan for my life even when I can’t see it clearly. Help me to trust You like Mary did and to believe that You can use my ordinary life for extraordinary purposes. Remind me that I am never forgotten in Your eyes. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
