More than four dozen state employees in education and commerce agencies were laid off this week, while an additional 80 positions will go unfilled. Indiana Public Broadcasting’s Brandon Smith reports on impacts from ongoing budget cuts.

Oil company B-P has put its project to store its carbon emissions underground in Indiana on hold. It was part of the company’s effort to make “blue” hydrogen — which is made using energy from fossil fuels but includes carbon storage. Indiana Public Broadcasting’s Rebecca Thiele reports the plan to pipe C-O-2 from B-P’s Whiting Refinery and store it in rural areas to the south faced a lot of opposition.
