June 6 - The year 1816 was known as ‘The Year Without a Summer’

Our story starts actually in Quebec City, Quebec when snow Snow fell from June 6th through the 10th. But this was no ordinary late season snow, It accumulated up to over 30cm in places. The temperature reached a scorching 33C at Salem, Massachusetts during an early heat wave, but then plunged 27C all the way down to 6C degrees !! This happened suddenly; in 24 hours, and that brought about the famous "year without a summer."
