When officials at Nicolet College in Rhinelander sought to recognize the complexity and diversity of Indigenous ways of learning and teaching, they turned to members of seven tribes and other educational organizations to help. Their research resulted in the Indigenous Ways of Knowing Report, which helps both Indigenous and non-Indigenous students see pathways to success. Shereen Siewert welcomes Laura Wind-Norton, associate vice president of academic services for Nicolet College, and Ron Corn, Menominee tribal member and director of revitalization at Menomini yoU, to detail their findings and share future goals for education in the northwoods.
