Is it necessary to educate oneself on the history of a holiday prior to wishing someone enjoyment of said holiday? I was asked how I felt about 'non-blacks' saying happy Juneteenth, which was not an issue that ever entered my mind. It seems there are some who feel in order to say 'happy insert holiday here' you must be fully knowledgeable of the holiday and it's history. I on the other hand feel like a greeting is not an open invitation to a 'wokeness' test.
