In 1925 a young African American man was arrested, charged and convicted of the crime of attempted rape. He was then found by the court to be insane, mainly because he spent the trial grunting and waving his arms around frantically. As a result, he was placed in an insane asylum, where he spent the next 76 years, until it was discovered that instead of being insane he was merely deaf. Today we tell the story of Junius Wilson.
