Ethan Gallogly is a professor of Chemistry, life long hiker and now an author of the new book The Trail. His boots have covered countless miles, including the John Muir Trail, the High Sierra Trail, the Oregon Section of the PCT, the Tahoe–Yosemite Trail, and the Theodore Solomons Trail. He was a reviewer for the Wilderness Press guides: Sierra North, Sierra South, and Yosemite National Park and has read nearly every book on the history of the Sierra Nevada.He has also hiked and explored mainland China, is fluent in Mandarin, and enjoys reading ancient Chinese poetry and philosophy.
