Great Read!
I love discovering new authors who can actually write WELL and with humor. This guy has got it down. His characters rang true & I found nothing predictable about the story, which is rare these days. My only complaint is that it was over before I was ready for it to end. I liked it well enough I checked out his blog at thomaslscott.com which was smart & funny. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and look forward to his upcoming novel, Voodoo Daddy. I. hope it's a long one!
Good short story!
I'm not a HUGE fan of short stories. I'd rather have a chance to get invested in characters. That being said, I did enjoy this story. The only part I would have elaborated on would have been that "another day". The old man spent so much time leading up to it and POOF! Over! One other thing bothered me about this book... HOMOPHONES!!! You don't "ball like a baby"! I can over look most punctuation errors... because I make them frequently... but spelling errors and wrong word errors break my "reading flow" and that just irritates me! But, for the price, it's not a bad story!
Exceptional story by a talented writer!
This author has the gift of writing! Except for a few minor typographical/grammatical mistakes, the writing itself was some of the best I've read in a long time! The story was interesting and compelling. It was quick and easy reading too. I also really liked the excerpt from his next book, at the end of this one. It looks to be quite gripping and interesting too!
Great short story
This was a very interesting and clever short story. The language personified the old man well. The only thing I would change about it is the length. I wanted more! But overall it was a well written and enjoyable story to read. The ending has an exciting and unexpected turn that is entertaining for every reader.
I'm usually not a fan of short stories either
...but after reading Voodoo Daddy, I knew I wanted to read anything and everything by Thomas L. Scott. I have not been disappointed with the short stories, except that I didn't want them to end.

Great Read!
