I recently read a surprising statistic.  A poll by researcher George Barna showed that 25 percent of the adults in the United States would attend church if they were invited by a friend.  That is amazing!  Just think – millions of people would welcome an invitation to go to church.  I’m sure we all know someone whom we could invite.  Even easier is inviting someone to go to a Christian movie with you, or attend a Christian concert. Take them out to coffee after and lovingly give them the opportunity to receive Jesus Christ.

If we look at how Jesus engaged people when He was here on Earth, we find that he held conversations.  He used dialogues, not monologues. He was friendly, engaging, and caring.  We should be the same. Let’s not bludgeon folks over the head with our attempts at evangelism.  2 Timothy 2:24-25 (NLT) says, “A servant of the Lord must not quarrel but must be kind to everyone, be able to teach, and be patient with difficult people.  Gently instruct those who oppose the truth.  Perhaps God will change those people’s hearts, and they will learn the truth.”

I encourage you to be bold in inviting your friends and coworkers to attend church with you.  Engage them in serious conversations about their need of a Savior.  Begin by praying for specific people. Ask God to prepare their hearts so they will be ready when you speak with them.
