“Be yourself because when you’re by yourself, that’s who you really are” is what my dad would always say to be while growing up.

What does authenticity mean to you? How to be yourself is probably one of the most challenging obstacle to self discovery . You may hear terms on how to be authentic person. This seems simple enough, but sometimes I find with myself and even others that we have trouble owning who we are. No more need to play a role or fit a mold. Like my dad would always say, “Be Yourself, because when you’re by Yourself, that’s who you are”. Wise words.

So today I heard this interesting quote from Tony Robbins. He said that most people over estimate what they can do in a year but under estimate what they can accomplish in a decade. This is perfect timing being that I’m at the year mark for starting my own business. I didn’t hit all of the goals that I wanted to but I did do well for myself. What’s important to remember is that although I didn’t hit all my goals for this year, I shouldn’t give up. Play the long game.

We all have people who come into our lives at just the right time. Why and how this happens I don’t know. Some would say it’s the universe working it’s magic. Whatever it is, pay close attention to those around you, they could be doing more for you than you think.

Was listening to an interesting podcast the other day where the person was talking about staying out of Jail and out of Hell. He was saying the as an entrepreneur we have to break the rules to get to the places we wish. We don’t have to follow society norms and what everyone else thinks you should be doing. As long as you stay out of Jail and Out of Hell, everything else is up for grabs.

I thought this lesson was valuable not only to those who wish or want to be entrepreneurs, but to anybody out there who’s looking to do extraordinary things in the their life.

Today I just wanted to share some of the setbacks and failures that I’ve incurred not only during this first year of my business but throughout life.

So I started to look back over my life and all the things that I’ve created. All of the people that I met and mad an impact on and vice versa. It made me realize that this life is all about creating your legacy and hopefully it’s one that pushes everyone forward. What’s your legacy going to be?

So I’ve been reading this book that was recommended to me by someone that I consider a mentor.  It’s called the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.  One of the most interesting parts was the concept of Living a Principle Centered Life.  This concept basically means that you have a set of core values and principles that you base all of your decisions off.  The type of decision doesn’t matter because whatever it is, you always measure it against your core principles and values.

So just the other day I was thinking to myself, you know I should bring back my podcast.  It’s been a while and I missed posting on my blog and recording my thoughts.  This has always been like a personal journal and a documentation of my journey.

Ever since I was young I’ve had this thought that I would write tons of journals and short stories and leave something behind.  A look into my life.  Real unfiltered thoughts and emotions.  I used to think that if my parents had done something like that, it would’ve been cool to discover and read it.

Now I’ve been thinking and focusing on living a life with purpose.  Ever since I decided to quite my job and pursue my dreams the road has not been easy.  But it has been fulfilling. Then I realized that my only mission in this life is to go after my dreams.  The things that I imagine can become a reality if I believe and keep taking steps forward.  How to keep moving forward when you don’t feel like it? Remember and remind yourself about your purpose in life.

What is a Impossible Possibility?  It’s a moment in time when we have a unique opportunity.  But are we recognizing it?  Looking at my life right now I’m in a position where I have a Impossible Possibility and it’s truly an amazing gift.  But I realized that I myself wasn’t totally aware of this.  The power of now is being able to catch yourself where you are right now.  Meet yourself where you are right now and live in that moment.  Remember that the moment now is the only moment that we have.  It’s better to see what you have now than it is to look for more.

As I grow older, I begin to see things in a different way.  Money is one of these things.  And the more I seem to learn about it, the more confusing or illusive it can become.  But ever so often, there are these moments of clarity where I have a thought that makes it all make sense.  Realizing this is one thing, but acting upon faith on it, is another.
