In Nehemiah chapter 6, the wall around Jerusalem was nearly finished when the enemy tried to draw Nehemiah away from the work.

The invitation sounded reasonable, but Nehemiah understood what was really happening. His answer was simple:

“I am doing a great work, so that I cannot come down.”

In this message, Just Stay on the Wall, we look at what can happen when we leave the place God has called us to occupy. We can abandon the work, move away from the right path, damage our witness, and affect the people God has called us to reach.

There will always be distractions, opposition, disappointment, criticism, and opportunities that try to pull us away from the will of God. But not every invitation needs to be accepted, and not every voice deserves our attention.

Stay faithful. Keep praying. Keep serving. Keep living for God. The work is too important to leave unfinished.

Nehemiah 6:3
“And I sent messengers unto them, saying, I am doing a great work, so that I cannot come down: why should the work cease, whilst I leave it, and come down to you?”
